A WordPress site + ongoing care for a children's magician working out of Bled — five-star reviews, kindergarten bookings, December holiday tours, and a site that's quietly stayed up since 2022.
Overview
Čarodej Jan — magician Jan Mežan, operating as Magični Teater Bled, s.p. — performs at children’s birthdays, kindergartens, schools, family events, and December holiday tours. He’s trained by his father (Čarodej Toni, also a long-time Numen client), works out of Bled, and depends on his website for the bookings that drive a real share of his calendar.
Numen built the site in 2022 and has hosted + maintained it ever since. It’s a representative T3 build → T4 Care relationship at the smallest practical scale: one performer, a few hundred bookings a year, and a website that has to load fast on the parent’s phone screen the moment they’re searching for a Saturday-afternoon birthday show.
What we built
Custom WordPress site. GeneratePress child theme with a restrained, warm palette tuned for the parent-and-child audience. Performance categories broken out clearly (birthdays, kindergarten visits, school assemblies, December holiday tours, agency-booked events, balloon art). Real photos of actual performances throughout — not stock imagery of unidentified magicians.
Booking inquiry flow. WPForms-based inquiry with audience age + event type pre-fills so a parent submits in under 30 seconds. Anti-spam (honeypot + time-trap), GDPR-compliant data handling, admin notifications routed to Jan’s primary email.
Testimonials engine. Five-star client reviews stored as a custom post type. Jan adds new entries himself after each performance — no developer needed, no theme-file editing. The most recent review on the live site (December 2025) came from Hotel Kompas in Bled.
Care. Managed cPanel hosting in the EU. SSL auto-renewed. Transactional email properly configured so reply-to-inquiry messages don’t get filtered as spam. Daily encrypted backups retained 30 days. WordPress core + plugin + theme updates tested in staging before production.
Why this matters
This is the fourth case study under the T4 Care umbrella, alongside Apartments Arh and Vrtnarski svet. The shape repeats: a small Slovenian business gets a proper website once, and then it just stays up.
The interesting Numen-specific note here: Jan’s father (Čarodej Toni) was a Numen client before Jan was. That’s the kind of multi-generational client relationship a T4 Care plan makes possible — and that fintech-grade ops hygiene at SMB prices means a family business doesn’t outgrow its website provider as it changes hands.

- Site needs to read as warm and child-friendly without becoming busy — solved with a restrained colour palette, large hero imagery of actual performances, and short copy blocks instead of dense paragraphs.
- Booking traffic is highly seasonal (December holiday shows + birthday-party clusters around school breaks) — solved with aggressive page caching and lazy-loaded gallery images so the site handles spike days without infrastructure upgrades.
- Two generations of magic in one family business — Jan's father (Čarodej Toni) was also a long-time Numen client. The site has to honour the tradition without feeling old; we shipped the new brand without losing what worked.
Some clients aren't fintech platforms or AI integrations. They're a magician who books kids' birthday parties and needs a site that just works. The engineering hygiene doesn't scale down — it stays the same.
